New To Me – Aug. 2025

And just like that – summer is practically at an end! I felt like I was able to see people a little bit more in the summer, which is weird since jobs aren’t like school… haha. But I digress. I felt like August was the month of party games, which made for some really funny plays. But I’m already looking forward to more new plays in September!

❀️ – Loved It/Definitely Want to Play More (I rate it a 9 – 10)
πŸ˜„ – Liked It/Will Likely Play Again (I rate it a 7 – 8)
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ – Okay/Take It or Leave It/Could Play Again (I rate it a 4 – 6)
πŸ‘ŽπŸ» – Didn’t Like/Would Not Play Again (I rate it a 1 – 3)
βš™οΈ – Prototype (so take the rating with a grain of salt)

Zap Your Game Boxes Shut!

Love storing your board games vertically on the shelves, but tired of boxes pulling themselves open under the weight of the components? Then the box locks from WALLZAP might be for you! Let’s check them out!

What Are They? – How Do They Work?

BEFORE

Small, strong magnets, alongside protective box tape, that you can attach to the top and bottom of game boxes to help keep them closed when stored.

AFTER!

You’ll attach protective tape to box bottom and lid before attached the adhesive magnets. The protective tape helps to keep the magnets securely attached to the box, while protecting the box from damage.

You’ll use the included spacers to measure where the magnets should be attached, and then stick them to the tape. Once attached to both the bottom and lid, you’ll want them to set for about 24 hours before storing your game vertically again, but you’ll be all set.

The instructions go into more detail, but that is just to get an idea of how easy it is to attach the magnets!

PROS

🟒Small, so they aren’t noticeable
on the boxes
🟒Work on any size/shape
cardboard boxes
🟒Easy and quick to install
🟒Strong – they really hold the
boxes shut!

CONS

πŸ”΄Price – They are a bit pricey, being that they are a luxury upgrade. You can get a better price the more you buy, so if you want them, it might be worth the investment

Final Thoughts

I don’t store many board game vertically, despite really preferring both the look and accessibility of vertical storage, and the biggest reason for that is the inevitable box drift, which I can’t stand. These magnets are easy to put on boxes, and really make a difference in how those boxes sit on the shelf. So, if you prefer vertical storage, they may be just what you need! My only hesitation is the price, since it is an investment, but like I said, the more you get, the better the deal, so if you have a large collection, go big!
