Alright you bunch of donkeys – it’s time to figure out who is the biggest donkey of you all. Oh? You don’t want it to be you? Well then, you’ll have to pick the right dice and play your cards wisely! Let’s get to it!

🥅The Goal of the game is to be the first player to run out of cards in your personal pile + hand in order to win
⚙️Dice Rolling – Each round starts with a dice rolling phase where players take turns rolling the dice and choosing one to place on the hay card until all dice are placed. They must choose a die with a different value than all others on the card already, unless there are none, then they may choose any die.
⚙️Hand Management / Push Your Luck – Players then choose to play 1 to 3 cards from their hand and the card’s value will be equal to the dice that match the color of the donkey(s) on the card. The risk is that the player with the highest value on a single card will refill their hand from the center pile instead of their personal pile, which will not help them get closer to winning

👥2 to 5 Players – Scales fine, and it’s pretty quick at any count
👥Ages 8 & Up – Small ruleset, so it is very approachable for a wide audience
👥Fans of light, lucky dice rolling games with some card play

🟢Aesthetics – Cute art, vibrant colors
🟢Small and portable
🟢Curved box lid makes the box easy to open
🟢Rules are well written
🟢Game is very approachable
🟢Rounds are snappy/quick

🔴Very Luck Heavy – Die rolls determine your card values and very few cards mitigate those rolls. Plus, since selected dice can’t repeat values (unless you have no other choice) it limits your agency for some rolls.
🔴Sometimes, even ties for the biggest donkey card comes down to an additional die roll, which doesn’t feel great

The game is cute and light, and I do enjoy just chucking dice sometimes. There isn’t any grand strategies in this one, but I do like that you have a little bit of choice in how many cards you play, because you can try to hedge your bets to try and get rid of more cards. If you enjoy light and quick games and don’t mind a high luck factor between die rolls and card draws, then it could be worth checking out!
