Are you brave enough to explore the dangers of the sea? Mysterious marvels lie ahead if you can navigate to them all. What will you and your crew uncover?
What Is It?
🎯The Goal of the game is to score 40 points for a successful voyage
⚙️Cooperative
⚙️Tile Placement – Each turn a player will play 2 map cards or 1 marvel card to the play area, following placement rules (i.e. continuing the path, covering certain symbols, etc)
⚙️Puzzle – Players want to maximize their score by extending their path, playing all marvels, and avoiding exceeding the threshold for encounter symbols, so they have to consider all placement options each turn
Who Is It For?
👥1 to 4 Players – Personally, I like is as a solo puzzle/experience, and I probably wouldn’t play it with more than 2 because it’s not engaging for a larger group
👥Ages 8 & Up – It has a a small and streamlined ruleset, and multiple levels of difficulty, so you can start easier and build up once you’re familiar with the game
👥Fans of puzzley solo or co-op tile laying games; similar vibe to Sprawlopolis
PROS
🟢Small and portable; might need more space sometimes to play depending on how you build your map
🟢Aesthetics – nice art
🟢Rules are clear and well-written
🟢Great variety in difficulty with different levels, marvel effects, and journey effects
🟢Plays smoothly and quickly

CONS
🔴I thought it felt a little clunkier with multiple players because you’re all trying to help every turn, and crowding around 1 or 2 cards
🔴You can an unlucky shuffle, which can lead to frustrating turns (i.e. a tricky active marvel effect or drawing a lot of one symbol at once on map cards)
Final Thoughts
I liked the gameplay as it has a puzzley nature, and plenty of variability. Personally, I think it’s best left as a solo game, because I didn’t feel the need for more hands at the table for this style of game. If you like tile laying and path building, it’s worth checking out!
