It’s Vet Time!

It’s time for your cat’s vet visit … but your cat doesn’t want to go! It’s going to fight and scratch as much as it can, and it’s up to you to get it in the carrier and off to the vet!

🎯The Goal of the game is to get the cat to the carrier before you get too many scratches or hissy fits
⚙️Cooperative – All players work together as a team
⚙️Hand Management / Multi-Use Cards – Players can draw and/or play cards on their turns as actions. If cards have the same symbol, 2 players can also play additional cards to combo actions, which can be essential. Cards can also have multiple uses players will need to choose between, such as removing scratches or clearing cat cards
⚙️“Events” – Cat cards come out each round and will affect gameplay in some way. For example, some will block the cat from moving, and others will prevent players from combo-ing.

👥1 to 4 Players – Fine at any count. Maybe a little easier with more because there is more potential to combo
👥Ages 8 & Up – Very approachable, plus players are working together so you can help younger players
👥Fans of cooperative games, hand management, and cats!

🟢Aesthetics – Cute art
🟢Components – Nice quality; I like that it comes with so many sticker options for the cat token!
🟢Rules are well-written
🟢Turns are snappy
🟢Fun theme
🟢Can scale difficulty with different cat trackers

🔴Luck of the shuffle – it could be over rather quickly if the hissy fit cards come out early
🔴Gameplay doesn’t feel that different play to play

I think it’s a fine little co-op game with a cute, and for some players relatable, theme. I think it plays smoothly turn to turn, and it has a small ruleset, so it is approachable to a wide audience. I wouldn’t say it’s particularly unique gameplay wise, but like I said, the theme is fun, so I think people will be drawn to it.

  1. So… did the cat make it to the vet, or did Fluffy come out on top? 😂 Nice overview 👏
