Take a deep breath, get comfortable, and jut sit back and relax. You’re spending the day at the lake where you’re bound to see the beautiful sight of lilies blooming. If you’re lucky, you’ll even be able to see all 8 types bloom today. Ready to give it a go? Let’s begin!

What Is It?

A puzzle solo game where you lay tiles out one by one into a central arrangement, hoping to get lilies to bloom! When you place a tile, it must be next to one you placed previously, and you have to make sure the colors of all the edges touching the new tile match. Once you make a square of 4 touching tiles, you get to place a flower token in the center, matching one of the colors touching the intersection. The game ends when all the flowers bloom, or you run out of tiles, and you score for how many flowers bloomed plus how many tiles you have left. Try to go for a perfect score of 21!

Who Is It For?

  • Solo Gamers
  • Ages 8+
  • Abstract fans who also don’t mind some luck
  • Players who like a calm / relaxing game

Components / Quality

Nice quality cardboard tiles, clear printing for the different flowers, a nice etching on the back. The wooden tokens are also nice, sturdy quality; fit into the gaps between the tiles well. Small box, but perfect fit for what’s inside. The rules are short and sweet, easy to learn from, but the printing is just a bit too small for my taste, since it needs to be a small book to fit in the box; can be hard to read for those with imperfect eyesight.

PROS

  • Small / portable
  • Easy to learn and play
  • Plays quickly
  • Nice quality / aesthetics
  • Quick set up and clean up

CONS

  • A lot of randomness. You don’t have a hand of tiles to choose from, just draw one at a time, so you never know what your best choice is for where to play

Final Thoughts

I was surprised by just how addictive this was! Simple gameplay, but found myself going back to it again and again to see if I could improve my score. Very pretty game that is great if you’re big on quick and light solo play. Technically, you can play it co-op too, but I would definitely recommend it as a solo game first and foremost. Check it out!
