Welcome to the Trash Dash – a race of back-alley critters all looking for the best trash around! Run laps as fast as you can around the alleyway, collect special power-ups from trash cans, and try to avoid the wrath of your opponents, all while trying to scare and attack them yourself!

What Is It?

✨Theme – Animals; Racing
🎯The Goal of the game is to finish the race first!
⚙️Modular Board – You can set up any combination of tiles to make your track, and change how many laps a race is too
⚙️Race – Players use action cards to move around the board as fast as they can to finish first
⚙️Take-That – Players also use action cards to scare and attack others – making them discard cards or move backwards on the track
⚙️Hand Management – Players may lose cards from scares, and may choose to discard extra cards during certain actions. They need to manage their hand effectively so they don’t spend too many turns resting just to draw more cards.
⚙️Variable Player Powers – Each player takes on the role of a character, each with 2 powers to choose from before you start

Who Is It For?

👥1 to 6 Players – I always prefer a race game with more players, so I think 5 to 6 is best. Though the game does have options for adding in CPU characters which works well at lower counts
👥Ages 8 & Up – Pretty approachable overall – play cards and move. The trickiest thing can be learning how to best utilize your ability, but that usually isn’t too bad either
👥Fans of race games, variable player powers, and cute characters, and those who don’t mind some take-that

PROS

🟢Aesthetics – Absolutely great / adorable art!
🟢Components – Really nice tiles/cards; the wooden characters are top notch and so cute!
🟢Turns are quick and smooth
🟢Rules are well written and clear
🟢Fun theme that works with the game mechanisms
🟢Good variability in track set up and number of laps, as well as tournament mode to let you earn points over multiple races

CONS

🔴I wish there was a little more variety in the trash cards
🔴The dash action of playing 2 cards and rolling felt like a ‘last resort,’ because the die had such a range
🔴Text on the reference cards was a bit small

Final Thoughts

If you like racing board games, this one just works. I am honestly obsessed with how cute it is. And I think it’s a really solid racing game. The gameplay itself is approachable for a wide range of ages/skill levels, and it plays well at all player counts. I like that you can vary the tracks a bunch play after play, and the variable player powers add just a little bit of strategy to keep it interesting over multiple plays. The tournament mode also adds variety since you can earn points over multiple plays. Overall, if you like racing games, you should check this one out!
