If you’re ready to tackle the high mountains Colorado is known for, but maybe not ready to travel all that way and … actually hike, then play 14ers instead! Start with easier class climbs, then challenge yourself to the harder ones. Compete again other climbers for ultimate glory!

Theme – Nature; Hiking
🎯The Goal of the game is to have the most points
⚙️Open Drafting – Each turn players will draft a climb card from the display, as long as they meet the requirements
⚙️Multi-Use Cards / Melding and Splaying – Players will tuck climb cards on one of the 4 sides of their hiker card. Training gets them more resources to meet requirements, Gear gets them variable utility bonuses, Capstones get them fixed points, and Plans get them variable points

👥1 to 4 Players – Solo is okay – you play against an automa. It’s pretty quick/simple. 2 – 4 changes the setup of the deck based on player count, but otherwise isn’t too different
👥Ages 12 & Up – Pretty simple gameplay, but definitely some good opportunities for strategy since cards can be used in multiple ways
👥Fans of multi-use cards and different options for scoring points

🟢Aesthetics – Nice art
🟢Components – Cards are nice quality
🟢Cards have some info about the climbs on the back which is fun and informative
🟢Turns are quick/snappy
🟢Multiple choices on how to use each card is interesting and choices increase as card levels increase
🟢Variable accolades and can add weather for more variety

🔴I felt like the counter cards were unnecessary; I didn’t end up using them
🔴I thought it was neat you could throw away cards as guides, but I did feel like they were a bit too strong later in the game
🔴I thought the game felt just a tad too short. A few more rounds would have helped me build a better engine

Overall, I thought it was a solid card game with some good variable choices and a unique and engaging theme. There were a few things that left me from liking it more, but I think if you like hiking, and love a game that has some fun facts about real-life places, then check it out!
