City planning is a demanding job, but someone has to do it! If you want to be the richest construction crew of them all, you’ll need to keep up on the city’s aesthetics and expand, expand, expand! Will your company’s roofs be seen far and wide? Let’s find out!

Open Drafting – Players can draft cards to get material blocks to work with, and sometimes movement for certain vehicles on their player boards

City Building – Players will start new buildings by placing a building block, and then contributing a block to any adjacent buildings as well. They’ll place a roof on one of the buildings they worked on that turn, and move the matching vehicle as many spots as floors that building has

Objectives – There are 3 objectives each game for players to complete. The faster they do, the more points they can earn

  • 2 to 4 Players
    • Works well at any count. Smaller board at 2 keeps the game tight
  • Ages 10 & Up
    • Small ruleset and few choices, but still pretty strategic when it comes to when and where you choose to build
  • Fans of city building games
  • Players who are visual and can really see the best moves turn to turn

  • Aesthetics – Looks cool on the table as you get building
  • Rules are clear / well-written
    • Small ruleset – Easy to learn, but still room for strategy
  • Components – Overall very nice, and give you a great tactile feel while playing
  • Variability in objectives game to game, which can change how players build
  • Theme doesn’t really matter (I don’t feel like I’m making money for my buildings)
  • Luck in card market – cards can give you 2 to 4 blocks, and sometimes movement for a vehicle on your board, and it can be frustrating if what you want isn’t coming out

This one has really smooth gameplay, which I appreciate, and I think it looks pretty rad both throughout the game, and at the end once everything is built. Overall, I just found it a little bland, personally. I didn’t feel like my choices were all that exciting, which made my turns feel a little repetitive.

But, if you like strategic / tactical games with a city building element, maybe it’ll be more up your alley – check it out!
