Is your faction ready for war? It’s time to find out! Bring your best to the battlefield and face off in Gudnak (the Orcish word for WAR!) Use your strength, plus some clever tactics, to siege your opponent’s stronghold and claim your victory!
What Is It?
A tactical card-war game designed for head-to-head play (for 2).
Deck Construction – Each game, players will play with a constructed deck of 20 cards – 5 heroes, 5 tactics, and 10 basic fighters.
Asymmetric – Players will choose from different factions while constructing their decks which have unique fighters, tactics, and abilities
Action Points – Each turn players have 2 action points to use. They can draw cards, deploy fighters, move fighters, attack, defend, use abilities, and/or play tactics.
Who Is It For?
- 2 or 4 Players – 2 is 1v1. 4 can be teams (2v2) or free-for-all. I think 2 players is ideal – it feels more streamlined, and tighter.
- Ages 12 & Up – Light strategy, small ruleset, good for a wide age and skill range
- Fans of deck construction and tactical card games
PROS
- Aesthetics – Gorgeous art, good graphic design
- Good game length
- Cool combos can be made, especially as you get more familiar with the cards
- Good variety in cards
- Small board works well for tight gameplay

CONS
- Everything is really tight in the box with the insert, it’s a little hard to get things out
- I wish there were player reference cards for traits/actions/abilities so players had it handy (it is only in the rulebook)
- Text is a bit small on the cards
Final Thoughts
Like most tactical card games, this game is all about knowing your deck. The more you play, the better you’ll know the cards/factions, what works well together, and how to best use your tactic cards. It’s fun to dive in deep with the same cards, but also to try out different decks and combos too! I definitely recommend the 2 player version over the 4 player variant, but it’s nice to have the additional options for sure. If you like head to head battles, then check it out!
