PAXU 2019 In The Books!

Hey Gamers! I hope you all had an amazing weekend – I know I did! Another Pax Unplugged has concluded and once again I had a ton of fun. From playing new games to meeting new people, and of course buying loads of games from my wishlist, it was a great time! This year was the first year I met with a few publishers, gave out some business cards, and now have a bunch of games on the soon-to-review list (so keep an eye out for those!) Check out below for some fun things I talked to people about and con photos! If you’d rather check out what I played all week and see those photos click here!

Surviving PAX Unplugged!

Hello Gamers! As you may or may not know, PAX Unplugged is coming up quick! For those of you going, I’M SUPER EXCITED TO SEE YOU ALL; SAY HI IF YOU SEE ME! (She said in a definitely not-crazy scream. Cause she’s not crazy, and definitely doesn’t awkwardly speak in the 3rd person before finally getting back to the point).

For all you first-timers, and maybe some of you bad-packers, I’ve made a quick survival checklist to help you make sure you’ve got what you need to be prepared, hopefully avoid con crud, and most of all, have a great time!

Let’s check it out! 😀

Extra Life + Weekly Plays!

Howdy Ho, Gamers! This week will also include a short recap of the Extra Life 24 Hours of Gaming Event I went to this past weekend, so if you’re only interested in plays/reactions/pics, just skip down to the bottom! Thanks for reading and get ready for a loooooooong list!

ReUnity Recap 2019!

Happy Sunday, Gamers!

As you can probably guess, I try to go to as many board game events as I can because, well, I like games, duh. But since travel and hotels are expensive, and we don’t live super close to most things, we usually do one big con (PAXU) and one small con (G2S) a year, plus a few FLGS game nights/small events. But this weekend we got to try out ReUnity Games!

It was a one-day event in Danvers, MA, revamp of Unity Games, hosted by out G2S friends who are killer at planning cons, and it was great! It wasn’t too crowded, so there was plenty of room to sit, play, browse, and move about, and as usual people were super generous with bringing games for others to enjoy, so there was a plethora of things to choose from! There was also a flea market/auction hosted on BGG which got us some neat finds for great prices, and a silent auction to donate some money to charity with some great packages to bid on! I got to try a bunch of new things, see a lot of great people, and have an awesome day of nothing but gaming. (Plus, it was only 15 minutes from a Cheesecake Factory, so I also got cheesecake <3) Big thanks to the hosts! Keep on making awesome things happen, cause you guys are great at it!

Click below to see some pics (check back tomorrow in my Weekly Plays post for ratings and more!) and get all the links you might need to learn more about this great group and their events, so you can join in too! Hope to see you at G2S in March!

Happy Gaming~

Mentally Prepping for PAX!

Hey Gamer Fam!

During and in the aftermath of Gen Con, which I wasn’t able to attend, I saw a lot of really awesome posts and photos and game announcements that got me super excited for PAX Unplugged! I know it still seems like a while away, but when it’s the one big con a year you attend (like me) it’s cool to get stoked a bit early!

I already can’t wait to roam the vendor hall (at least 10 times), play a ton of new-to-me games, buy some new swag and games, and find the best pins. But, time for some real talk.

Amidst all my excitement for these things that I’ve done at PAXs past, I’m also feeling a bit more anxiety than usual, coupled with maybe a bit of imposter syndrome? Let me break it down a little bit.
