What I Played This Week 10/12 – 10/18

Sup, gamers? I hope you had yet another week of most excellent gaming. We didn’t play a ton this week due to doing some much needed home reorganization, but still found time for a few gems to get to the table. And, we got a bunch of new games thanks to thrift finds and a great sale at Target. Hope to get even more plays this week and maybe sort through some of my extra gaming bits… I think I have a bit too many… haha.

Happy Gaming~

Gaming Culture: I Miss Conventions

Howdy gamers! For this week’s Tabletop Writer’s Diversity Initiative – Challenge 6 – we’re talking about Gaming Culture. There’s so many topics you can talk about when it comes to the culture around the hobby, rather than just the games themselves, but I decided to focus on conventions. Let’s dive right in!

Butterfly Sets for the Win!

It’s said that the white butterfly is the soul of a lost loved one, a beautiful tale indeed. If you collect enough butterflies of your own, you may be lucky enough to earn a visit from one. Go head to head to collect sets of butterflies and earn the most victory points!

What I Played This Week 10/5 – 10/11

Welcome back to Monday’s weekly plays, gamers! Did you play anything new this past week? I did! I also got to see a few friends I haven’t seen in quite a while, and we got plenty of awesome games in! Also spent some time on Tabletop Simulator this weekend trying some new things. I’m really not big on TTS for a lot of reasons, but it was nice to try some stuff I wouldn’t have access to otherwise.

What else are you doing for fun? I’m continuing to really enjoy some video games, and I’ve been really into participating in #Snaptober with some simple board game photos on my Twitter and Instagram – make sure to check it out!

And as always, happy gaming~

Mechanics, Theme, and Artistry (Oh My!)

Howdy, readers! We’re back with Week 5 of the Tabletop Writers Diversity Initiative, and the challenge is “to identify a particular cross-section of gaming that excites you – then write about it!” I read and reread the description for this week a bunch, because I couldn’t decide what to write about! I own and play so many games and definitely see trends in what mechanics, genres, themes, and more that I tend to enjoy more or gravitate toward, and I could probably talk about any at length (in fact, pretty sure I have in a few past posts), but it’s hard to choose just one to focus on. After much deliberation, I decided to look at real-time games!
