Foxes love chasing geese, so it’s up to the loyal farm dogs to keep them from catching too many! Will your foxes make the biggest catch despite the dogs? Or will you get scared away quickly?
What Is It?
🥅The Goal is to have the most cards in your win pile at the end of the game
⚙️Hand Management – Each turn, players will play one card. Geese and dogs go face down in front of them, and foxes allow them to try and catch geese from other players.
⚙️Push Your Luck – When a fox is played, the player starts turning over cards from other players. They can continue until they choose to stop, collecting all the geese they found, or until they reveal a dog, which loses them all the geese they revealed, putting them in their opponent’s score piles instead
Who Is It For?
👥2 to 5 Players – Works fine at any count, but I think it’s more exciting with more players since you’ll be flipping cards from multiple people
👥Ages 6 & Up – Super small ruleset so it’s easy fro just about anyone to get into
👥Fans of light card games and pushing your luck!
PROS
🟢Small and portable
🟢Aesthetics – art is super cute
🟢Rules are well-written
🟢Very approachable to a wide audience
🟢Turns are super snappy
🟢Curved box lid makes it easy to open

CONS
🔴Agency – You don’t have a ton of choice throughout the game since certain cards have to be played certain ways, and you always play all your cards
🔴The variation has players take 4 random cards out of each of their decks, but then some players can be unlucky and lose many of their few dogs/foxes, limiting their chances for points
Final Thoughts

It’s a super light and quick game, but it has a lot of fun moments. It’s funny to watch someone get excited to start a catch the geese round, only to immediately flip over a dog. But, it’s also exciting to watch someone get really lucky and keep flipping over tons of geese. The rules are simple, so it’s great for everyone from kids to families, and even heavier game fans who just like pushing their luck!
