The Godfather’s son is dead, and he’s enlisted you to figure out who among your ranks was the mole responsible for this tragedy. You’ll need to use your connections to get to the bottom of this, and maybe crack a few skulls along the way to get the answers you want. We don’t want this fate to befall anyone else in the family, so we’d better not waste any time. Let’s get to work.
*Note: There may be minor spoilers in some content / images below*
What Is It?
Cooperative – Players work together to solve the crime
Narrative Deduction / Crime-Solving – Players will be following leads, talking to suspects, and making connections to find the perpetrator. They’ll need to pay close attention and take plenty of notes along the way in order to do well
Digital Hybrid – Players will need to use the internet (research, email, hints, etc) to progress in the game
Who Is It For?
- 1 or More Players – I prefer multi-player for this style of game. I think 3 or 4 works best
- A solid team who can communicate well and look at things from different angles
- Ages 13 & Up – Gameplay isn’t too challenging, but maybe “young adult”+ just due to the content
- Fans of narrative games with a mystery to solve
PROS
- Aesthetics – Not a ton of art, but what there is is good; good graphic design
- Components – Nice quality cards. Boards/envelopes are just paper but they’re good
- Story was well-written and immersive, and the pieces make more and more sense as you put things together
- It’s fun to make connections and reveal new information as you move along.
- There’s a lot of information to parse through, so it works well for a small group
- Different paths/choices depending on how you want to interact with characters
- Some slightly hidden clues on things (i.e. envelopes) – it was a nice touch and was fun when you found them

CONS
- Again, there is a lot of information being thrown at you, sometimes very quickly. It can be a bit overwhelming and/or hard to keep track of. Be sure to take notes!
- Some cards or choices were a bit vague, so it wasn’t always instantly clear what we needed to do next
- There is a lot of reading, so make sure everyone is happy to take turns reading the cards
Final Thoughts
I thought this game had a solid story, kept my group engaged the whole time, and was an immersive experience. I am someone who tends to enjoy these narrative deduction type of games, but I thought it was approachable enough that if you haven’t played this style of game much, or at all, yet, it’s a good entry point to the style. Definitely recommend this one!
