Treat? TREAT? … TREAT! It’s fun hanging out with humans. When we act extra cute, they reward us with playtime, belly rubs, and… oh yeah – treats! Who will end up the most spoiled doggy on the block? I hope it’s me!
What Is It?
✨Theme – Dogs!
🎯The Goal of the game is to have the most points
⚙️Hand Management – Players will play up to 2 behavior cards each round. Only once they play their “take a nap” card can they pick up their discard pile to reuse cards
⚙️Events – Each round an event card will be revealed which will have an immediate or ongoing effect
⚙️Set Collection – Players can score bonus points for getting at least 1 of each type of objective, or 3/4 of the same type
Who Is It For?
👥2 to 4 Players – Works well at any count
👥Ages 10 & Up – Approachable ruleset and gameplay; fun theme
👥Fans of “play your cards and pick them up” style games and players who don’t mind random events
PROS
🟢Aesthetics – Very cute art
🟢Components – Nice quality cards/board/tokens
🟢Rules are well written/clear
🟢Turns are pretty snappy
🟢I like that you get to play more cards and complete more objectives in the last few rounds to try and squeeze out more points

CONS
🔴Events – I’m not a big fan of this type of randomness. I think sometimes some players get to benefit while others don’t, and it’s not because they planned around something upcoming, since you don’t know what’s going to come out.
🔴I thought cards were often too expensive for how slow it could be to earn bones outside of the 2 at the end of each turn
Final Thoughts
Super cute game overall. While it’s not my favorite style of card play, I think it does work well and the game flows really nicely turn to turn and round to round. I could do without the events, for sure, or would have them reveal earlier as like the event for the upcoming round. It’s a fun theme for any dog lover, and if you like this style of hand management, it’s worth checking out!
