New To Me – Nov. 2024

It was a great month for new games! A 24-hour gaming day, plenty more review games, and just general new things from others in the game group. There’s definitely a ton of games I love playing on repeat, but I am definitely also always interested in trying new things, even when they aren’t all hits. Did you get anything new played this month?

❤️ – Loved It/Definitely Want to Play More (I rate it a 9 – 10)
😄 – Liked It/Will Likely Play Again (I rate it a 7 – 8)
🤷🏻‍♀️ – Okay/Take It or Leave It/Could Play Again (I rate it a 4 – 6)
👎🏻 – Didn’t Like/Would Not Play Again (I rate it a 1 – 3)

PAXU 2024 Preview

I’m so excited to once again be attending PAX Unplugged this year! We are just about 2 weeks away, so I wanted to highlight my top 10 most anticipated games that I’m excited to check out. What games, or other aspects of the show, are you most looking forward to this year?

New To Me – May 2024

Great month for new games! Mostly escape room style things (which are my FAVE, but unfortunately mean not a lot of pics) but a few others as well. Any new games you’re looking forward to playing soon?

10 Games That Left a Bad First Impression

I strongly believe that if you do not like a game after 1 play, you do not have to play it ever again. If you want to try it again, by all means, go for it! But if you’re only doing it because you feel like you “have to,” you definitely don’t have to!

When I dislike a game, I usually say I won’t be playing it again. And, I don’t know how many times I have been told that I “just need to give it another try,” or I “need to try this variant/home rule,” or that I “didn’t get it yet,” or “it’s better on the 2nd or 3rd play.” While all of that is great, if a game doesn’t ‘wow’ me, I just don’t feel like anyone should ever feel obligated to try a game multiple times if you didn’t have a good first experience.

With all that said, here are 10 games that missed the mark for me, and didn’t leave me wanting to come back for more.
