Fill in the blanks:

If you said “best,” “team,” and “ever” – we’d probably make a pretty good pair! If you have a partner you vibe with, that you think you have a good chance at matching, then it might be time to try Blank Slate Challenge!

Team Play – You can play 2- player cooperative, or 2 vs 2 teams

Word Association – Players are shown cards with a blank and a words and they must fill in that blank in an attempt to complete the phrase and also match their partner

2 or 4 Players – Cooperative or teams

Ages 8 & Up / Light-weight game fans

Fans of Blank Slate looking for a twist on the original

Fans of word association

Players who are like-minded and good at matching answers

  • Rules – Short and sweet, well-written
  • Quick teach, and a quick play
  • Easy set-up and clean-up
  • Pretty small/portable – can play almost anywhere
  • Good variety in the cards
  • No communication – Which does make sense, to be fair, but it can lead to some frustrating rounds if you and your partner can just not get on the same wavelength
  • No art, so it’s a little bland to look at
  • If you play with the same people, and play a lot, you could get to know the cards too well and just reuse answers to always match, which is boring

I don’t feel like I have a ton to say about this game, just because it is pretty simple and straightforward. That said, it’s also pretty fun!

I’m surprised at how hard it can be, haha! You definitely need the right partner, or you’re going to rack up a lot of zero point rounds quick, but once you get into the groove, you can play it a few times in a row and really crush those matches.

If you like light games and trying to match others, check it out!
