GenCan’t 2018!

Howdy friends!
Another awesome GenCan’t “convention” is in the books! There’s not a whole lot I can say about it other than it was a lot of fun to have my friends over, bake some cool meeple cookies, and play a lot of games all weekend! No crowds, no lines, just a ton of fun (not to knock GenCon, cause that also looks like a ton of fun! haha). No vendors, on the downside, but we were able to go thrifting and hit up Target and Gamestop clearance sales and grab a few newbies!
Mostly I just wanted to share my photos of the weekend here, so please enjoy! Did you do anything fun for GenCon or GenCan’t? Leave some comments!

*Side note – I’m thinking of opening a new Twitter page for just board game items – live tweeting plays, images, and links to the blog of course. Thoughts?

Cheesy, Weird, Obscure, & So Much Fun!

Have you ever played a game that was just a tad cheesy? Had a weird theme? Maybe was a little too obscure for your group? Then welcome to the club! I first discovered that CW&O games were kind of their own genre thanks to the Flip the Table Podcast. They played a lot of great cheesy games, and had a lot of fun doing so, which definitely got me more interested in them as a whole! This past weekend my friends and I participated in their International Cheesy Games Day by playing a bunch of these goodies and really getting into the cheesy spirit! I wanted to post about not only the fun that I had, but also the general goodness that is CW&O games, in hopes that others can enjoy them tons too!

Updates and ITTD Highlights!

Howdy fellow gamers!

I know I’ve been off the blog for a bit now, and I feel downright awful about it because it means I actually haven’t been playing games as much lately. But for good (I think) reason – they’ve been packed away in preparation for a move to a house! Yes, my games now have a much bigger home than the dinky apartment they once lived in. But, because of that impending (and now pretty much completed) move, I have not been playing as many games as I would have liked, and I haven’t been able to touch the blog at all.

Another Convention Down! G2S!

Howdy faithful readers! This weekend my fiance and I attended Granite Game Summit (G2S) in Nashua, NH! Before this, I have been to one small board game convention (Grand Con) and and one large convention (PAX Unplugged)! Both were totally awesome.

I was definitely excited about this one, but knew it would be even smaller than Grand Con – little to no vendors, small library, mostly BYO games, small venue – but I was still anxious to get there and try it out.

PAX Unplugged Recap!

Hello there Gamers of the Multiverse!

As you can likely imagine, I had an amazing time this past weekend at the PAX Unplugged Convention. It was a very smooth convention, which made for an extra great experience as my first larger convention. People were kind and inviting, events/lines were conducted well, and the vendors were killer (as were their products)!

I played a bunch of new games, met a ton of fun people, spent too much money on games and swag (& coffee haha), and just ultimately had a really great time. It was a fun new adventure, and I would love to return again next year and do it all again. ^_^ There’s not much more I can say about it, but I think a photo collage will certainly do the trick! 😀

Enjoy, and as always – Happy Gaming!
