Hey there, Gamers! I hope everyone is still staying safe and having some fun gaming at home! I know it isn’t always easy, and maybe sometimes you just need to curl up with a book or have a movie night with 10 bowls of popcorn, and that’s super cool too! But if you are gaming, I hope it’s awesome!

We did a little more virtual gaming this past week and over the weekend we started the Alphabet Gaming Project! Each weekend, each day will be “brought to you by” a different letter of the alphabet, and will exclusively feature games that start with that letter. I’ve been having a lot of fun with it so far, and plan to do a post about the featured games at the end too! ^__^

Top 5 Solo Games

Howdy solo gamers! Glad to have you here for this post! If you’ve followed much of what I’ve written about in the part, you probably know I’m not a huge solo gamer. Partly because I live with my forever gaming partner, and since we work a very similar schedule and have very similar tastes, we usually play together, and partly because I’m very lazy and do not like to take the time to set up a game by myself and for only myself.

However, a whole bunch of the games that I own do have solo modes, so over the past few weeks, I’ve been trying some more of them out to see which ones I like best, and these solo modes hit the top of the charts! Plus, I haven’t done a list in quite some time, so I thought this would be a great one!

If you’re like me and haven’t really been able to get super into solo gaming in general, for whatever reasons, I think this list is a good place to start, if you’d like to try, because the games generally don’t have heavy rules, and they have pretty light or easy set up and clean up. The list also features various mechanics, because I’ve found that these are my favorites that do solo for their “thing” (i.e. roll & write, deck builder, etc.) Moreover, I lean toward solo games that have an objective you’re trying to reach (i.e. score X points within X rounds) or compare your score to a scale (to earn you a title) rather than just “record your score and try to do better next time!”

So if you’re interested in trying some games on your own, check these out, because they’re some of my favorites!

In What I Played This Week

Hey stay-at-home gamers! I hope everyone is still trucking along and playing lots of games! This past week we did some more virtual gaming (fully equipped with technical difficulties of course). We also got our Deep Water Games bundle, some Japanime Games, and a new review game from Pencil First, so we have been getting a bunch of new stuff to the table! I’m thinking of starting a mini-“series” where I force my husband to only play games starting with the same letter every so often and posting about the best games that start with each letter… something to think about I suppose!
