Faeries can be fickle and devious creatures. That’s why it’s your job to build the strongest alliance possible. Faeries want to be the only representative of their tribe in an alliance, or else they may make that alliance weaker after all..
What Is It?
✨Theme – Faeries
🎯The Goal of the game is to have the most points
⚙️Closed Drafting – Each round, each player get 3 cards to look at, choose the order they are stacked in, and pass them to an opponent, following the direction of play. Players will choose 1 card from their stack to use the ability of and add to their alliance, but can only look at one at a time, deciding to keep or pass before looking at the next one, thereby pushing their luck a bit, if they’re hoping for a certain card.
⚙️Set Collection – You collect cards for your alliance in front of you and want the single highest ranking Faerie of each tribe. 2 cards of a single tribe are worth 0 points, 3 or 4 are worth negative points equal to the highest rank card, and 5 or more are worth the summed value of that tribe.
⚙️Take That – Players will use abilities to swap/steal/give cards around the table to improve their score, or hurt opponents
⚙️Variable Set-up – You use 6 tribes per game, and there are 13 to choose from, with some suggested pairings for games
Who Is It For?
👥2 to 6 Players – It is definitely more chaotic with more players, but I think that’s also more fun. I think 4 to 5 is the best count
👥Ages 12 & Up – Not a lot of rules, but more strategic than it appears, especially with less players. Probably best for players with some strategic gaming experience
👥Fans of set collection and high player interaction
PROS
🟢Aesthetics – Gorgeous art
🟢Components – Nice quality cards, and I like the insert
🟢Plays quickly
🟢Easy set-up and clean-up
🟢Good variety in cards/abilities
🟢Rules clear/well-written

CONS
🔴Can be rather chaotic/random
🔴I would prefer if the direction of play just alternated each round instead of shuffling a deck of cards
Final Thoughts
This one is light and quick, which I think makes me more forgiving about how chaotic it can be. Cards are moving around the table, getting discarded, and even changing scoring sometimes. Because of that, it can definitely feel like you don’t have much, if any, control over your alliance, or at least not a handle on it until basically the last round of the game. If you like a little chaos, like I said, this one is quick and pretty easy to learn, so it can be a fun filler.
