Adventure, mystery, exploration, discovery, and much more await in Stonesaga! There are secrets and surprises behind every corner, crafting recipes to learn, and even behemoths to encounter. Every path is different…so which one is for you?

⚙️Cooperative – Players all work together
⚙️Legacy / Campaign – Each game session is one generation of people; one “chapter” in your story, so to speak. Players will discover new things and make choices that influence their own game – everyone’s game will be different
⚙️The game features a unique resource management system – fitting everything into a bag shape on your player board and a unique crafting system where you’ll combine 2 things to get a number and see if those items create something new

👥1 to 4 Players – Although players can take simultaneous turns once they get more familiar with the game, I think less is more overall, so I like it at 2
👥Ages 16 & Up / Experienced Gamers – There is a lot of front-loading to this game, so if you don’t like reading or learning rules, this might not be for you
👥Fans of big, expansive games with branching choices

🟢Aesthetics – Nice art across the board
🟢Components – Excellent quality; love the minis and dual layer boards
🟢Nice storage for all the components
🟢Offers a tutorial to guide players through their first game
🟢Crafting system feels unique and fun as player discover new things
🟢Rules are incredibly detailed and include an index, which can be handy

🔴The Rules are a lot. They can be hard to parse through especially with the format; everything felt a little disjointed to me, at least at first. The tutorial tries to break everything up to have you learn as you go, but that leads to a very slow intro game because you have to continually pause to read more rules.
🔴Time Sink – You’ll want to either play this solo or have a very dedicated group because there is a lot to explore. It does have a drop in and drop out system, but I think it’s more fun to follow the story with the same players, personally

This is definitely a game with a lot to explore, which is super cool. It looks awesome on the table, and I think it’s a neat system. I also think it’s cool that everyone’s experience will be a little bit different because you’ll make different decisions in the story, or use your items to craft different things.

That said, the rules are a beast, so if you struggle with rules undertakings, this might have a rough barrier to entry for you. Personally, I’d recommend looking up the rules ahead of time in order to decide if this one is for you/your group. If you can get past the rules, the game has so much cool stuff in store!
