The first in an upcoming series, The Enigma Emporium Presents: Wish You Were Here presents players with a captivating mystery game experience where they must work together to find and decode clues to get the information and answers they need.

Let’s check it out!

What Is It?

A new and innovative mystery game that feels like a hybrid of escape room puzzles, mixed with a T.I.M.E Stories vibe. It is an immersive experience for all players involved!

Who Is It For?

I would recommend it for any adults that enjoy the above mentioned games/types of games. Take adults as you will, I suppose, but I played with a group of 20-somethings and we had a great time!

Quality of Components

The components are simply 5 postcards, so nothing much to evaluate here. But, they are sturdy, and the pictures and text are all clear, so I’d give them 2 thumbs up!

Pros

  • An immersive experience – it feels more like you’re really solving a mystery than playing a game, which is very cool.
  • A lot of features, which I don’t want to spoil, add depth and layers to the game which help you to dive deeper and deeper into the story.
  • The puzzles are interesting, complex, and touch on a lot of different concepts which allow you to navigate the game as a team where everyone can contribute.

Cons

  • Some of the puzzles felt like a bit of a stretch or struggle for our group, but of course that’s going to vary depending on players.
  • Again, I don’t want to spoil anything, but the ending can be a bit confusing as well, at least in our case. But hey, don’t take my word for these – you have to play for yourself! (Trust me, you should).

Difficulty

I personally would rate the difficulty a solid 4 out of 5. Some puzzles can click right away while others are definitely challenging! It’s a great time for anyone who is willing to really work their brain and try looking at things in different ways. Would not recommend playing this one while tired!

Final Thoughts

Overall,  I really, really enjoyed this game, and my group had a great time too! There were a few hiccups here and there, which I don’t want to spoil the game by stating, but it all balanced out into a very positive experience. I look forward to seeing what other puzzles and mysteries come out of The Enigma Emporium, and highly recommend everyone check them out! You can do so by visiting …..
