If you’re looking for a quick, unique memory-matching game, then you need to check out Banana Boy VS Uni-Cone! Let’s check it out!

Memory/Matching – Each turn the active player points to 2 cards, says what they are, and flips them. If they are the same type (thing, vehicle, food, alive – color will match) the player keeps one. If they are an exact match (i.e. cone + cone) the player keeps both! Players never flip uncollected cards back over, so players need to pay close attention to find those matches!

  • 2 to 6 Players – I think I prefer 3 or 4 because there’s less time between turns (which helps me not forget where the matches are as much, haha!)
  • Ages 6 & Up / Family or lightweight Gam Fans – Simple ruleset, so it’s very approachable
  • Fans of pure memory games

  • Unique for memory, since you can focus on color matches, or exact matches; good challenge
  • Aesthetics – Art is simple but very cute; I like the vibrant colors
  • No reading required for gameplay, so it’s great for all ages!
  • Plays quickly and smoothly
  • Each purchase of the game plants a tree!
  • The ability to reserve a card for your next turn didn’t feel super necessary; rarely got used in my plays
  • Aesthetics – Kind of wish you were matching 2 halves to make a whole (since the images are all halves) instead of 2 of the same half

Overall, it’s a very cute game! For a pretty simple memory game, it did feel unique since there were multiple ways to make matches, and, since players could collect only 1 card in some instances, you had to really pay attention to remember what cards were still available in the center.

It’s very approachable, and plays up to 6, which is great because it’ll appeal to a wide range of players. If you like memory – check it out!
