Welcome to Hincksville, neighbor! Of course, now that you’ve joined our quirky community, you’ll need to solve a few puzzles to get to the top of the building and earn your elevator pass. Sounds fair, right? Let’s get this little challenge started!

A cooperative, escape-room style puzzle game where players are visiting different floors in the new building they moved into and must solve the puzzles in order to continue progressing. The players are equipped with a welcome kit of materials to use on each floor, and use a website to enter passcodes to move on.

  • 1 or More Players – I like it with 2 players, and I wouldn’t recommend it with more than 4
  • Ages 12 & Up – It depends on how puzzle-oriented you are; some are harder than others, but I think it’s good for a decent age/skill range
  • Fans of escape rooms/puzzles who enjoy guiding themselves through an experience
  • Players who don’t mind an online component

  • Components / Aesthetics – Really nice, mostly paper, components. Fun colors/art on things
  • Website works well – responsive, loads quickly, audio is clear, voice-acting is fun
    • The elevator music is a total bop
    • Also isn’t overused – the focus is on the physical components, and the website is just an addition
  • Fun Theme / Story of having to do all these puzzles just to get your elevator pass!
  • Puzzles felt varied, some are very unique
    • Also, varied challenge level, but no crazy leaps in logic, which I have seen in other games of this nature
  • Most things don’t have to be destroyed, and there is a replacement for the one component that does
  • Hints are available when needed
  • We thought it might be helpful for the website to say exactly which components to pull out on which floor, but it wasn’t all that hard to determine
  • Some puzzles don’t use many materials, so it can be hard for multiple players to work on at once

This was fun! I love puzzle games, and this had very solid, engaging, creative puzzles, so I had a great time. I thought it had a good level of challenge without being “brain-burning” hard. Personally, I think it’s best at 2 players, since it’s a linear progression and there’s not a ton of materials to use at a time. If you’re a fan of the genre, I think it’s a must-play!
