There are far too many assassins in the business these days – it’s getting ridiculous. Time to thin out the competition. If you think you can, that is. You’ll need to build up your bank and manage your hand in order to play the best cards at the right times and take out everyone around you. Will you be able to hit your marks?
What Is It?
🥅The Goal of the game is to be the last player standing
⚙️Action Selection – On a turn, players will do 3 actions. Any combination of drawing a card, putting a card in their bank for it’s value, and paying cards from your bank to play a card from your hand.
⚙️Hand/Resource Management + Multi-Use Cards – Cards are used for money and abilities, so players have to choose what to keep in hand, versus use for money. Some cards can also eliminate players who have a certain number or color of cards in their hands or bank, so hoarding cards isn’t always a great strategy either.
⚙️Hidden Roles – Each player has a hidden mark at the start of the game
⚙️Player Elimination – Players can play cards or use bounties to eliminate others
Who Is It For?
👥2 to 4 Players – Seems to work fine at any count, but I do think it’s a little more engaging with the full 4.
👥Ages 13 & Up – Overall pretty approachable gameplay, but the theme might not be for younger audiences
👥Fans of social deduction and player elimination games
PROS
🟢Fun box art
🟢Small and portable
🟢Rules well written
🟢Quick to learn, teach, and play
🟢Can use the game box to track your actions – clever!
🟢Good variety in card abilities
🟢Handy card breakdown on the back of the rulebook, so you know how many of each card there are, and what color they are

CONS
🔴I wish the bounty cards were more obvious – i.e. having the mark it was for bigger on the card, as they sometimes blended in with the other cards/discards on the table
🔴Not much for art on the cards
🔴Wish there were reference cards for each player with the card breakdown, like it is on the back of the rulebook
🔴Luck of the draw, especially since there are different value cards in the draw deck, and you can see that someone is getting more value than you from their draw
Final Thoughts
Player elimination is never super fun, but this game is very short, which lets it get away with that, because you aren’t out for long, and you can play another game right away if you want a rematch!
It plays smoothly, turns are quick, and there’s a good level of tension keeping everyone engaged, wondering if someone is going to try and take you out on their next turn.
I think it definitely leans lucky, because of the different values of cards – it doesn’t feel great to draw a bunch of 1-value cards to then see the next player get 2’s and 3’s. But, again, the quick nature of the game keeps it from being too frustrating. If you like social deduction-y games that are quick and portable, this might be for you!
