Your sneaky cat is hiding somewhere … can you use the perfect combination of toys to lure it out for some cuddles? Let’s find out!
What Is It?
🎯The Goal of the game is to be the first player to win 3 rounds, or be the one who wins the most rounds after 7 rounds
⚙️Hand Management – Each turn, players will play one of their numbered lure cards to a toy card. Each toy will have exactly 2 cards at the end of the round, and those will determine the value of the lure cards of the toy’s color left in each player’s hand. Players are trying to set themselves up to keep cards with values the will get them closest to the cat’s value for that round without going over
Who Is It For?
👥2 to 6 Players – Works pretty well at every count, but I think 3-4 is best
👥Ages 8 & Up – Approachable, players just need simple addition skills
👥Fans of hand management and a bit of “speculation” / “hedging your bets” with deciding what to hold on to
PROS
🟢Aesthetics – Great look; I love the colors contrasted with the black and white picures
🟢Nice quality cards and cat tokens
🟢Rules are well written
🟢Kind of clever card play, especially with having different sized hands if you win rounds. It ends up being a bit puzzley feeling to decide what cards to use versus keep for your best chance at a good hand
🟢Scoring is also pretty unique, and I like that the target number changes each round

CONS
🔴Luck of the draw with your hand
🔴Doesn’t feel thematic
🔴Turns can sometimes be slow if players are recalculating their hand/potential score
Final Thoughts
This one is more than meets the eye! Turns are simple – just play a card to an available toy. But you’re always thinking ahead and calculating your hand’s potential value. And the way you think about your hand changes round to round as well if you have won any rounds, because then you’ll have more cards, and you’ll have to keep more in hand for scoring. I just think it’s a really interesting and unique card game.
