Are you ready for an expedition to an ancient temple full of amazing artifacts? Even if the temple’s a little… twisted? Well, alright then! Keep your energy up and work together to navigate, explore, and collect your loot!
What Is It?
✨Theme – Archeology; adventure
🎯The Goal of the game is to explore all the revealed rooms in a round and get to the revealed door
⚙️Cooperative – Players work together
⚙️Limited Communication – Players can plan how they want to visit rooms but can’t talk about what cards are in their hands aside from using a few communication tokens
⚙️Dexterity – Players will be turning the temple trying to get the die to certain spots. They must be careful not to tip it because they lose the round if the die or any walls fall out
Who Is It For?
👥1 to 4 Players – Not as fun solo in my opinion, but I like it at 3-4
👥Ages 10 & Up – Pretty straightforward ruleset overall. Some of the challenges/expedition mode can be trickier
👥Fans of cooperation with some communication limits, a fun toy-ish gimmick, and variable set-up
PROS
🟢Temple was easy to build, and clicked together nicely
🟢The temple is also a fun/unique gimmick
🟢Easy set-up/clean-up
🟢Smooth/quick turns
🟢Rules are well written
🟢Fun theme
🟢Challenges and expeditions help give the game variety after more plays

CONS
🔴Basic game is a bit too short. I definitely think you need to add additional room cards and/or challenges to get a better feel for gameplay
🔴The temple itself was just a little too dark. I wish the colors on it were more vibrant
🔴I thought the symbology on the action cards wasn’t super intuitive; I thought “build/remove” should have looked more different from “move” for the wall cards
Final Thoughts
It’s a cute and unique puzzley sort of game. It’s pretty easy to get into, especially if you start with the basic set up and add things little by little. Personally though, I think if you’re a more seasoned gamer/group, you can dive right into adding more room cards and challenges. I think if you like a good gimmick, it’s worth checking out for at least a few plays.
