So, you think you know slang words from across the decades? Well, even if you don’t, maybe you can make up a clever response that sways the judge’s opinion! Use the various slang words to come up with definitions, band names, movie titles and more and see how many points you can rack up!
What Is It?
🥅The Goal is to have the most points from guessing what decade words are from, and having the best response each round
⚙️Judging Party Game – Players will score points based on the judge’s taste each round. The judge will rotate. Players will be judge twice in a 3-5 player game, or once in a 6-8 player game
⚙️Word Game/Trivia – Knowledge of slang words throughout history will help, or being able to decipher what a word means based on the word itself
Who Is It For?
👥3 to 8 Players – Works at any count. I like a medium sized group, so I think around 5 is my favorite
👥Ages 12 & Up – The gameplay is very approachable. I think skill will vary since the words range from about the 1930s to 2020s
👥Fans of trivia and judging style games with knowledge of slang words
PROS
🟢Aesthetics – Fun color scheme
🟢Components are nice quality
🟢Lots of variety – 220 slang words
🟢Rules are well written and clear
🟢Fun theme
🟢I like that you can get points for guessing the decade, and not just for having the best answer
🟢Rounds are quick (you can use a timer if people are taking too long, but I never felt the need)

CONS
🔴Judging games are always super subjective, so some players can end up not getting as many points just because their joke didn’t land
🔴Rolling the die can mean you see the same category a lot just by chance
🔴Not much for artwork
🔴If you play it very often, some players may start to memorize the cards, leaving less replayability
Final Thoughts
This has a super fun theme, and one I don’t think I’ve seen used before. I definitely like that you have the chance to earn some points outside of just having the “best” answer, though the decade guessing was harder than I expected, haha! I think if you generally enjoy the judging style of party game, this is worth checking out.
