Oh no! Your pesky cat found your spell book and released all the demons! You’ll have to draw sigils in order to bind them again. Try not to let your cat get in the way too much – they’ll knock over your candles every chance they get!

🥅The Goal of the game is to have the most points at the end of 14 rounds
⚙️Roll & Write – Each turn the 3 dice are rolled. Each player will individually choose 1 for their cat to steal, then draw a line on one of their sigil cards connecting candles of the other 2 numbers. Finally, they will cross out a candle matching the stolen die value; they will not be able to draw lines to/from that candle moving forward
⚙️Variable Player Powers – Players can add in familiar cards to give them unique abilities to use during games

👥1 to 6 Players – Each box plays 1 – 2 players, so combined you can play with up to 6. I thought it scales fine since everything is simultaneous. Though, I did find solo pretty tricky!
👥Ages 8 & Up – Small/simple ruleset; very approachable
👥Fans of roll and write games and multiplayer solitaire

🟢Aesthetics – Great art on the goals
🟢Components – Nice quality dry-erase cards, dice are pretty, and the markers are good quality
🟢Lots of variability of the goals, especially if you combine all of them
🟢Rules are well written, and also provide suggestions for goals that work well together
🟢Other players can’t mess with you
🟢Familiars add a little bit of strategy to the game

🔴Solo can be super tricky (70 points per sigil), especially when using familiars. I think I would have preferred it if it was just one total score to aim for, not per card
🔴Unfortunately, I don’t really feel much of the theme
🔴Some of the familiars feel a little too expensive for what they provide, but they may just have more of a learning curve

This is a super cute roll and write game. I love how smoothly it plays, and I’m generally a pretty big fan of multiplayer solitaire style, where others can’t take certain dice away from you or mess with your board. I love how much variability there is in this one with all the different combinations of goals and familiars.

I did feel like using familiars meant you needed to be much more meticulous about how you used your dice, since you had to “pay” points for the familiars at the end, but that was also pretty interesting. If you like roll and writes, this one is super solid, so I think it’s worth checking out!
