Another year wrapped up! Between actually attending PAX Unplugged and then playing all the games we picked up from it, December was a pretty epic month for new games! Have you played any of them? How do you like them?

I’m thinking about continuing this “new to me” series this year, but I haven’t decided if I might change it a bit… If you’d rather see new to me games a different way, let me know!

As always, happy gaming~

❀️ – Loved It/Always Love It/Favorite
πŸ˜„ – Liked It/Will Likely Play Again
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ – Okay/Take It or Leave It/Could Play Again
πŸ‘ŽπŸ» – Didn’t Like/Would Not Play Again

πŸ˜„ Throw, Throw Burrito – This is wildly fun!
πŸ˜„ Berried Treasure – Super cute one! Don’t forget to check out my review!
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Boy Band Builder: The Card Game – Too much take that for me, and the game felt kind of broken in a way at only 2. Check my review out for my full thoughts on this one
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Snack Attack – It had great art, but the game play was a little boring to me
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Ars Alchimia – If not for having to roll almost every turn for extra resources/points on recipes, this would have been better. But that made the game so swingy
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Shinkansen: Zero Kei
πŸ˜„ 1923 Cotton Club – This was pretty good, though I wish I had just gone for criminality from the start
πŸ‘ŽπŸ» Journey to the Center of the Earth – I felt like I had zero control in this game, which led to doing a whole lot of nothing for half an hour. No thanks.
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Doodle Dash – Not too different from other drawing games, and the racing element didn’t really make sense since you don’t get more points, just the first chance at points. Guessers could guess wrong on purpose to just not give you points
πŸ˜„ Clipcut Parks – This was neat! But at the same time, a bit wasteful
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ γƒžγ‚«γƒͺョーシカ (Macaryoshka) – This has an awesome look, and the gameplay was cute, but the ending just fell kind of anticlimactic to me because it seemed obvious who would win a few turns before the end
πŸ˜„ Magic Mountain
πŸ‘ŽπŸ» Frequent Flyer – Oh my word was this bad. You roll a d20 to determine movement. Think about how swingy that is. I might move 1 space on the same turn you move 20. That’s insane. On top of that, nearly every turn you draw random event cards which might let you upgrade to first class, or might make you move backwards and lose two whole turns. Just…Why? The fact that this came out in 2021 makes it about 10x worse to me.
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Namiji
πŸ˜„ Succulent
πŸ˜„ ε››η•³εŠγƒšγƒΌγƒ‘γƒΌθ³½η³» (Yojōhan PΔ“pā Saikei) – This was a slightly different take on a roll and write and I thought it was pretty neat. Definitely increased my fear of negative points, because you can get quite a few in this
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Yomen
πŸ˜„ It’s a Wonderful Kingdom
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Stella: Dixit Universe
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Dungeon Decorators
πŸ˜„ Summer Camp – A cute deck builder, but I do wish there was a culling mechanism
πŸ˜„ Sanctum – Definitely didn’t think I’d like this, but it was pretty good! There’s a lot of room to try different strategies too
πŸ˜„ Dragon’s Breath The Hatching – This was super adorable! Sometimes I really like these kids games.
πŸ˜„ The Key: Murder at the Oakdale Club – I love this series! Keep an eye out for this review soon!
πŸ˜„ Cloaked Cats – Cute deduction game! I like finding more different kinds of deduction games to get to the table
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ/πŸ˜„ Moonrakers – I don’t love this game at 2 players, so I’m really hoping I get more out of it one I get a chance to play with 3-5, or even solo, cause it just looks amazing, and I am also into the style of game, just not at only 2
πŸ˜„ The Pumpkin Problem – Another great game in this 18-card escape room series!
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Disney Hocus Pocus: The Game
πŸ˜„ Space Invaders – It’s just FlipShips rethemed, but I still love it!
πŸ˜„ Most Cutest – A super simple party game, that’s just so adorable. Review coming in the sometime future!
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ BEARanoia – This definitely needs a large group to shine, it’s just okay otherwise
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Pineapple – Would definitely be an interesting game for a group of close friends or college kids at a party
πŸ‘ŽπŸ» TNA DVD Board Game
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Discover: Lands Unknown
πŸ˜„ Call to Adventure
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ/πŸ˜„ Knights of the Hound Table
πŸ˜„ Yummy Yummy Monster Tummy
πŸ˜„ Valiant Wars
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Fantasy Pug Quest
πŸ˜„/❀️ Picture Perfect – This game was super tricky but sooooo cool! Can’t wait to play it some more!
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ/πŸ˜„ Lizard Wizard
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ/πŸ˜„ Dungeon Fighter
πŸ˜„ Sheep & Thief
πŸ‘ŽπŸ» World of Warcraft Adventure Game
πŸ˜„ Ducks in Tow
πŸ‘ŽπŸ» Binding of Isaac
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Monstrous
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Ticket to Ride: Marklin – It’s still just TTR, so it’s okay. I didn’t love the passengers … mostly because I drew those cards way too often! lol
πŸ˜„ Merchants of the Dark Road – This game was intense! Excited to see what else it has in store with more plays
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Awesome Kingdom: Mines & Labyrinths
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Vikings on Board
πŸ˜„ Bitoku
πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Varuna
πŸ˜„ Cape May
