If you want your favorite performer’s autograph, you will need to be quick and clever with your approach. These performers are swift with all their strength, flips, and magic tricks – they never stay in one spot for very long! Do you think you can keep track of them and secure their posters? You better get going!
What Is It?
Memory / Deduction – Players are trying to make groups of the same performer in the circle. The performer tokens (of which there are 3 faces of each + 5 clowns) will flip over and move around, so players will need to pay close attention to remember where everyone is, or deduce it based on what else they have seen
Who Is It For?
- 2 Players – Head-to-head game
- Ages 8 & Up / Light game fans – Straightforward, small ruleset
- Fans of memory and deduction mechanisms
Variants
Teams – Play 2 vs 2. Share applause tokens. Both players on a team peek when using the fortune teller ability – I thought this was a little clunky. It feels unnecessary because it’s such a small, quick game. I think it’s better at just 2.
PROS
- Aesthetics – Good art
- Components – Nice weight on the poker chips. The applause tokens are also cute
- Turns are quick and smooth
- Small/portable – Don’t need a lot of play space
- Rules – Well-written and clear
- Handy reference cards
- I like that there’s a rule for how to handle if someone makes a mistake
CONS
- Replay Value – Game feels very same-y play to play
- Bag as box – Harder to store
- Hard to balance finding performers with not giving away too much info to your opponent
Final Thoughts
I thought the game was fine, but ultimately not very interesting. It felt like I almost wanted to do nothing on many turns because I didn’t want to give my opponent any information, and it’s impossible to make moves without giving things away, which might just set the other player to score points, while also not giving you additional information. It felt difficult to balance that. Overall, it just feels very middle of the road to me. But if you’re big on memory, it might be a bigger hit with you!
