As we all know, there’s a lot of games out there, and a lot of titles are known to even non-hobby gamers because they’re just that popular. While I like plenty of games that are widely adored, I still have a fair few I can’t get into for one reason or the next – many which other gamers tried to use to get me into the hobby. We love visiting our local thrift stores to see what games someone may have donated that could become our next big treasure. We’ve found a lot of random games that end up being played once and getting re-donated, but we have also found a good number of games that we end up adoring and not only hanging on to, but also playing quite frequently.
So, without further ado, in no particular order, here are the top 15 games that we’ve acquired by thrift shopping!
Once an English major learning about famous writers, now a degree-holding aspiring author with a day job (as you can see, college was worth the crippling debt; stay in school kids), whenever my hobby ties into all that book-learning I did, it makes the forever English lover in me quite happy. Thus, I quite often like to try games based solely on their English-esque themes (really puts a wrench in that whole “don’t judge a book by its cover” thing, huh?). On the bright side, I usually end up liking them a lot.
