Peculiar plants grow in the Evenglow Forest, and they must grow in perfect balance. Can you make it so? Harness both sunlight and moonlight to grow your gardens with success and create powerful potions from your plants!

What Is It?

✨Theme – Alchemy
🎯The Goal of the game is to score the most points
⚙️Tile Placement – Each turn the active player plays their plant card to the draft board, showing what 2 plants they will grow, and what 2 plants everyone else will grow. Players all place their tiles simultaneously on their boards, and can play anywhere, but must play to the same numbered slot on both of their gardens. There is a shrinking grid element, as players will have less spots to choose from as the game goes on
⚙️Puzzle – Players need to figure out how to best place plants to optimize the different scoring, but it can be tricky because of the mirrored placements

👥1 to 4 Players – I really enjoyed the solo puzzle because you have full control of what happens each turn, and you know how well the game is scoring easily, so you’re able to calculate your best move based on each plant card. For multiplayer, I prefer it with less players because there’s more turns where you get choice/control
👥Ages 13 & Up – The puzzle can be brain-burny at times, depending on the type of games you play/enjoy. Might be trickier for a younger audience, or those who don’t like puzzley games
👥Fans of shrinking board puzzles (like Calico), solid solo puzzles, and don’t mind a lack of control

🟢Aesthetics – Very pretty
🟢Components – Nice quality all around; I really like the foam tiles
🟢Solo is a great puzzle that offers multiple difficulties
🟢Rules are well-written and clear
🟢You won’t fill your board, which always lets you have a little wiggle room with placement

🔴Though placement is simultaneous, it can cause analysis paralysis for some players, as they figure out where is best to place, so some rounds can be slow
🔴Starts to feel kind of “samey” game after game because you’re always trying to make the same shapes, and you get the same potions

I think the game looks great, and the puzzle is a lot of fun. I also thought the mirroring boards was cool and definitely felt unique from other tile placement games I’ve played. For me, I just wish there was a bit more variability with the puzzle game to game. I thought it might be cool to have different shapes required for the plants that needed those specific shapes, or more potions to swap in and out and change up the available abilities in the games. Still, if you like this style of puzzle, it’s very cool, especially for solo plays, in my opinion.
