Think you can come up with the best scoring word in only a few seconds? Are you willing to bet on it? Let’s see who has the best spelling skills!

🎯The Goal of the game is to have the most points
⚙️Dice Rolling – Each round, a roll determines players’ personal and shared letters for the round, as well as some additional scoring (i.e. double letter)
⚙️Word Game – Players will use letters to build the best scoring word
⚙️Betting – If you think you have the highest scoring word for the round, you can bet up to 3 chips to try and score bonus points if you did have the best word

👥2 to 4 Players – Fine at any count, but I think betting never reall works at 2, so 3 or 4 is best
👥Ages 8 Up – Pretty approachable for a wide age range, but, of course, keep in mind the skills/knowledge level of all players and play with similar levels (i.e. younger players may not be able to put together longer/more complex words)
👥Fans of Scrabble, word games, and betting

🟢Pretty small/portable
🟢Rounds are quick and smooth
🟢Feels familiar / small learning curve
🟢Rules are well written
🟢Components are nice quality

🔴Luck of the roll – getting stuck with duplicate letters in public/personal dice can be annoying
🔴The bidding felt clunky and kind of silly since you don’t lose your chips

Having played Dice Words fairly recently, I thought this felt very similar to that, but with some light betting added on. I’m not too familiar with Poker/Texas Hold ‘Em, to be honest, so I’m not sure if it’s really giving that vibe, but it does translate Scrabble to dice easily since that’s not too crazy of a difference. The bidding definitely felt weird to me, and ultimately low stakes, because it felt like it was common to either not bid (if you were sure your word wasn’t good for the round) or bidding all 3 if you thought you had a chance to win, so it just wasn’t that interesting in practice. Overall, the game was fine, but I’d probably rather just play Scrabble.
