Gearland is under attack from Rollar – the evil semi-truck! You’ll need to upgrade your train, deliver gears and passengers, and solve emergencies in order to take Rollar down and save the cities! Remember to work together when you can – it’s always good to be kind!
What Is It?
🎯The Goal of the game is to have the most points
⚙️Dice Rolling – Each turn players roll dice to collect gears and see if Rollar moves or attacks
⚙️Pick-up and Deliver – Players will have various passenger and cargo job cards throughout the game that they’ll need to bring to specific locations in order to score points
⚙️Semi Cooperative – The game is competitive in nature, but sometimes players can ask each other for help with an emergency and a player who helps by giving someone else gears they need will receive “kind train” cards, which can have bonus actions or points on them

Who Is It For?
👥2 – 5 Players – Fine at any count, but I think it’s a little bit better with more because there’s more opportunity to utilize the Kind Train cards
👥Ages 8 & Up – Rules/actions are pretty straightforward/approachable
👥Fans of light pick-up and deliver games, and collecting items to turn in for points
PROS
🟢Aesthetics – Cute art and vibrant colors
🟢Components – Nice quality overall, but really great train minis!
🟢Rules are well written
🟢Game insert hold everything very well
🟢Turns are smooth and snappy

CONS
🔴Slight 1st Player Advantage since there’s the possibility of unequal turns, and they have the first chance to drop off passengers and get generators
🔴Luck of the draw in what job cards are available on your turn; if you can grab a bunch of the same color, you can do them all at once, which lets you just work on more
–>🔴Passenger jobs are also much easier than cargo jobs. They are worth less points, which makes sense, but if you can grab them, you can get through them quickly, while you might end up waiting for the right color for a cargo job for a while
Final Thoughts
Very cute and has some fun concepts. I think the emergencies staying face down until you attempt them is a fun way to add a bit of strategy or even push your luck to the otherwise light game, and really allows you to test out the whole mechanism of having to ask for help if you don’t have what you need. I do think the game has a bit of first player advantage and unmitigated luck in some areas, but it’s not too long so it doesn’t weight it down much. Definitely a cute game for family fun!
