Oh no! Your tiger doesn’t have any stripes! It’s up to you to help them prove themselves and earn those stripes! Can you collect enough prey cards to be the first tiger to get all the stripes they need? Let’s find out!

What Is It?

A set collection game where players take turns either drawing a random card from the deck, taking a tiger from the jungle row, or discarding cards from their hand to use their gems to capture one or more prey cards. At the end of a turn, players must discard all sets of 3 matching prey from their hand and collect the appropriate stripes. They may also choose to discard a matching pair of prey plus a tiger card for the same effect. The first player to 7 stripes wins!

Who Is It For?

  • Ages 7 +
  • 2 to 4 players – works well at all counts
  • Fans of light / quick card games
  • Fans of set collection and multi-use cards

PROS

  • Aesthetics – Art is simple but cute; lurking tigers in the background on prey cards is a nice touch
  • Gameplay – Very smooth; turns are short / quick
  • Components – Just cards and a few cardboard tokens, fine quality
  • Small / portable
  • Multiple uses for cards is interesting (spending the gems for new prey cards, or trying to save up sets for stripes)
  • Different shapes for gems is nice in case you can’t tell the colors apart

CONS

  • Unequal Turns – First to 7 wins, so there is a 1st player advantage, though luck does play a large part, of course

Final Thoughts

This is a super cute game that I think will be a great choice for kids/families. I think it might be a bit tricky for younger kids at first, because of the multiple uses for cards, but once they understand it, it’ll be smooth sailing!

On the other hand, it will definitely be too light for many older audiences, but will definitely offer a nice, quick filler for others, so it works in multiple capacities.

If you’re looking for a small, simple card game, or something new for the kids, check this one out!
